Our Children Are Sacred

Serving Indigenous Families Since 1980

Ben Calf Robe Society supports Indigenous children, youth, and families in Edmonton with care, culture, and connection.

Our work strives to protect and enhance the sacredness of our children through holistic education, supportive social services, and programs of high quality and cultural relevance.

Who We Are

Carrying a Name, and a Teaching

Ben Calf Robe was a Blackfoot Elder from the Siksika Nation and a residential school survivor. For more than forty years, the Society that carries his name has provided Indigenous children and families in Edmonton with education, support, and programs grounded in culture.

We are an Indigenous-led child, youth, and family organization. Our work runs from licensed group homes and foster care to free parenting circles, a community kitchen, cultural teachings, and a helping hand with housing, resources, and resumes. Elders, ceremony, and our Indigenous Ways of Knowing are part of all of it.
